4/7/09 Quiz 1 is on week 2, Thursday 4/9/09.It covers the staff we practiced on HW1, which are the stuff we covered during week 1.
4/15/09 Quiz 2 is on week 3, Thursday 4/16/09.It covers the staff we practiced on HW2, which are the stuff we covered during week 2.
4/21/09 Quiz 3 is on week 4, Thursday 4/23/09.It covers the staff we practiced on HW3, which are the stuff we covered during week 3.

Exam 1 Announcement

1. Exam 1 is on Week 5, Thursday Apr 30. It is a closed book, 1-hour on-class exam.
2. It covers what we have learnt up to Apr 21 (and including Hamiltonian cycle)
3. you need to review hw1-4, quiz1-3, and lecture notes, as well as read the book
4. I will do an 45 min-review on Tue 4/28/09, please start review the quizzes and hws over the weekend, so that you can come up with questions for me to solve first.

5/5/09 Quiz 4 is on week 6, Thursday 5/7/09. It covers the staff we practiced on HW5, and HW6 (only the part for shortest path class of 5/5/09). These include the stuffs we covered during week 4 and the shortest path algorithm covered on Tue 5/5/09.
5/12/09 Quiz 5 is on week 7, Thursday 5/14/09. It covers the staff we practiced on HW6, and part of HW7 (only the problems on the fundamental set of cycles and fundamental set of edgecuts). These include the stuffs we covered during week 5 and the fundamental set of cycles and edge-cuts covered on Tue 5/12/09.

Exam 2 Announcement

1. Exam 2 is on Week 8, Thursday May 21. It is a closed book, 1-hour on-class exam.
2. It covers what we have learnt up to May 14, 2009. So, it includes topics of Hamiltonian cycle, TSP, shortest path, trees, and prufer sequences
3. you need to review hw5-7, quiz4-5, and lecture notes, as well as read the book
4. I handed out a review sheet, and did a review on Tue 5/19/09.
5. You can omit the part (B) of problem #5 in the review sheet -- that is, you need to know how to solve a TSP problem, but you do not need to know the method of finding the lower bound mentioned on the review sheet.
5/26/09 Quiz 6 is on week 9, Thursday 5/28/09. It covers the staff we practiced on HW8

Final Exam Announcement

1. Final Exam is on Week 11, Thursday June 11, 8:00 --10:00am at Randel 120. It is a closed book, 2-hour exam.
2. It is a cumulative exam, covers everything we taught from chapter 2 to chapter 5.
3. I handed out a review sheet, and did a review on part of Tue 6/2/09, and also on the Thursday 6/4/09.
4. My suggestion for the review is to First study the review sheet for the Final, HW 8--10, and Quiz 6, these are the staff covered after the exam 2, THEN study EXAM 1 and EXAM 2, finally study the rest of staff we learnt such as HW1--7, quiz 1--5.
