Course objective
This course is meant to introduce you to discrete mathematics. We begin with a review of elementary set theory, and move on to study basic combinatorics, graph theory, and number theory. If time permits we will study special topics such as coding theory and formal language theory.

Course outline
Portions of the textbook that will be covered:

  • Attendance policy: Class attendance is required. Students will held responsible for all materials and information covered in class. What is said in class takes precedence over what is on the website.
  • Religious Holidays: In accordance with the university's policy, students upon prior notification of their instructors, shall be excused from class or other scheduled academic activity to observe a religious holy day of their faith.
